I know I”m supposed to have a short, quick answer to this question:
“It’s a collection of stories from my life as a weird ugly kid growing up in the orbit of multiple family members with severe mental illness, the lessons I took from them, and learning to make my way as a wife, mother, professional person, and a human.”

That’s all true – but if I had the time I’d tell you what it’s really about…
It’s about finding beauty in the things that make us feel less-than, other, and unworthy.
It’s about seeing the big lessons in the excruciating minutia of the everyday.
Its about learning to laugh in life’s shittiest situations.
It’s about family, acceptance, and love.
It’s about showing up to each new day even when we’re exhausted, we don’t have a clue what we’re doing, and finding the strength to keep going.
It’s about how I learned to tell the story of my life in a way that helped me remember all that I’ve come through.
That new story gives me hope as I work through the pain & disappointment of the demons I continue to face.
It has helped me to see all that I have to be grateful for and it has opened me up to all the magic that is left to be discovered.
It’s about making space in the world for all the different kinds of thinkers, believers, feelers, seers, be-ers, and makers. Diversity comes in more ways than we can imagine.
It’s a piece of my heart in a collection of moments.
It’s a reminder that no one is alone.
It’s my journey through Life, Motherhood, and the Pursuit of Sanity.

It’s for all of us.

Much love,

Erin xo
